Provide a Healthier life in the last-mile communities
Real-Time Biosurveillance Program (RTBP) has been developed around the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based disease surveillance, event detection and notification system. The Pilot project implemented in the two nations was an action research project aimed at evaluating the RTBP for a wider scale deployment in India and Sri Lanka with the possibility of extending the RTBP to the respective regions.
The overall goal of the project was to improve the ability of India and Sri Lanka to respond to clinical and spatial data to form an overall probabilistic assessment of disease threat, and combine this probabilistic output from the detection algorithms combined with the results of decision analysis to create an implemented response decision-making system for the Epidemiology Units in the district level before the disease reaches a "tipping point".
